River Float Ride - Manistee , MI

This August come out for an adventure of a ride.  There will be a nice backroads trip up to the Manistee River for a wonderful long weekend full of laughter and good times.  The trip starts later than normal on Thursday afternoon and leavves from Capitol H-H.  We cruise the backroads up to Mastson's Big Manistee River Campground east of the town of Manistee. Nestled on a bend in the river, the campground proprieter also runs the canoe livery.  We have the main "Matson's Lodge" reserved for both nights, plus a camper trailer or cabin if a more private accomodation appeals to you.

The lodge has 6 bedrooms and sleeps 16 people.  There's (2) queen size beds, (5) full size beds, and (2) twin beds.  Also there's two kitchens, air conditioning and two full bathrooms with showers.  Outside ammenities include a fire pit, charcoal grill, picnic table, and outdoor chairs.  Just bring your own beach towel!  

The camper trailer is available and sleeps four comfortably for $115/night. There's even a cabin that sleeps four with (2) queen size beds, for $115/night..

The plan is too cruise up Thursday afternoon/evening then go canoeing or kayaking on Friday about 11AM.  It cna be you r choice to rent a canoe, single kayak or double kayak.  The livery will take us upstream to High Bridge launch which provides a 4.5-5 trip down the river without stops for snacks and swimming.  The best part is the river trip ends when we arrive back at Matson's Campground!  We'

ll cook up a grilled yummy meal and celebrate the summer with some adult beverages too!

Saturday brings theoption of a motorcycle ride or a river "float via tube" for those look to chill out some more.  Sunday morning we'll cook up a nice send-off breakfast and enjoy another meal together before packing things up saying our good byes and firing up the scooters for the trip home.

The lodge for all 3 nights, if it's full at 16 people, is $66 per person.  If there's only 12 people it's $88 per person.

Closed Event: Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G. Chapter members. Closed Events are those events open to Chapter members and one guest per member.  All guests must sign an event release. Be aware, all rides and events are subject to change or cancellation due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.

Alcohol consumption before or during a motorcycling activity is not safe, responsible behavior. DEV - Capitol Area Chapter #4668 does not allow the use of alcohol or drugs before or during a riding event* and does not furnish alcohol at Chapter rides. Riders whose skills are observed or suspected to be impaired by alcohol or drugs before riding cannot join the ride. Riders using alcohol or drugs while riding will be asked to leave the ride. It is the responsibility of each Template Chapter member to support the consistent enforcement of this policy

By entering the H.O.G.® event area, you irrevocably grant permission to the Harley-Davidson Motor Company® and its agents to photograph, film, record and/or videotape you and use (and authorize the use of) your name, image, likeness, voice, and/or biographical or other information in any and all media now known or hereinafter developed in perpetuity for any and all purposes.
